About
About Slow Cooker Converter
A small, free set of calculators for moving a recipe between a slow cooker, an oven, a Dutch oven and an Instant Pot, with the reasoning shown.
Why it exists
The question is simple: the recipe says 8 hours on Low, you have two hours and an oven. The answer is usually buried in recipe-blog comments or an old chart with no explanation of where the numbers came from. This site does the arithmetic, shows the range rather than a falsely exact time, and adds the parts the charts leave out: how much liquid to change, when to sear, and what temperature tells you it is done.
Where the numbers come from
Every result is calculated from a short set of published rules of thumb: the conversion guidance in Crock-Pot manuals, the Pillsbury slow cooker conversion table, Instant Brands cooking-time tables and the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service's safe minimum temperatures. The rules, the floors and caps added for chicken and desserts, and what a calculator can't know about your particular cooker are all set out on how the conversions work. Nothing here is lab data, which is why every page tells you to finish with a thermometer.
Corrections
The tables were last checked against those sources on September 14, 2026. If a number looks wrong for your cooker, or a source has changed, write to hello@slowcookerconverter.com. Every page on the site runs on the same conversion rules, so a correction to a rule updates every page that uses it at once.
How the site is paid for
Display advertising, and at most one Amazon product link per page, marked as an affiliate link. Neither changes any conversion. There is no account, no newsletter and nothing to sign up for; the privacy page lists what the ad network collects.
